The Munster Schools Athletics Association Annual General Meeting will take place on Monday 27th November 2017 at 8pm in the Cahir House Hotel, Cahir, Co. Tipperary. All interested parties are welcome to attend.
The County Tipperary Post Primary Schools Cross Country Championships will take place on Wednesday 6th December in Thurles Crokes A.C. Grounds with the first race commencing at 11.30am. See all the details here.

Congrats to all our East Munster athletes who competed at the Irish Life Health Irish Schools Combined Events Championships in AIT International Arena, Athlone on Saturday 28th October. Munster athletes won 8 medals in total (2 gold, 2 silver & 4 bronze) with 4 athletes qualifying for the International Schools teams. Our three medal winners on the day were Eoin Kenny, DLS Waterford who won silver in the Senior Boys competition (2965 points), Katie Nolke, Ursuline Waterford who won bronze in the Minor Girls competition (2823 points) & Mark Carroll, Nenagh CBS who also won bronze in the Minor Boys competition (2470 points). Other athletes who competed very well on the day were Emily O’Mahony, St. Augustine’s College Dungarvan (5th Inter Girls 2993 points), Kerry Barrett, Pobalscoil na Trionoide Youghal (8th Inter Girls 2629 points), James Murphy, Ard Scoil na Mara (7th Senior Boys 2328 points) & Joseph Cunningham, Nenagh CBS (12th Junior Boys 1843 points).

The Munster Schools Combined Events Championships were held in Nenagh Indoor Stadium on Wednesday 11th October. With over 150 athletes taking part, it was a great day of early season athletics. Many thanks to all the schools who took part and to all our officials who helped out on the day, your assistance and support is very much appreciated. There were 3 new records set on the day – Vickie Cusack, Davis College set a new record in the Senior Girls competition of 2914 points to better the record of 2622 points held by Grace McKenzie, Crosshaven, Harry Nevin, Rochestown College scored 2857 points to beat the record of 2103 points held by Reece Ademola, Douglas CS with Eoin Kenny, DLS Waterford scoring 2579 points to break the existing record of 2467 points held by Paul White, Nenagh CBS.

The SIAB Schools International will take place on Friday 10th November in the Emirates Arena, Glasgow.
The SIAB Schools Track & Field International took place on home soil in Morton Stadium, Santry on Saturday 15th July. Ireland finished in 2nd position behind England in both the Girls and Boys competitions. Our East Munster athletes won two silver individual medals and 1 bronze. The Irish Life Health Tailteann Interprovincial T&F Championships were held on Saturday 24th June in Morton Stadium. Munster athletes had a great day winning 44 medals in total (20 gold, 12 silver and 12 bronze) and taking home the Boys Tailteann Trophy for the first time since 1991. East Munster athletes won 11 individual Tailteann medals on the day.
There were gold medal wins for Sean Mockler, Thurles CBS in the Discus and Hammer; Jack Ryan, Thurles CBS in the Shot Putt; Adam O’Dwyer, Thurles CBS in the Pole Vault; Miriam Daly, Scoil Mhuire COS in the 300mH and bronze in the 80mH with the top 3 athletes all sharing the same time of 11.77 and Jake Vermeer, Comeragh College in the 400mH. Silver medals were won by Tirna Ni Chathail, Pobailscoil na Trionoide in the Hammer, Patrick Fitzgerald, St. Augustine’s Dungarvan in the Pole Vault and Liam McDonagh, Thurles CBS in the 3km Walk and bronze for Aisling Lowe, Ursuline Waterford in the 1500m Steeplechase. Miriam Daly and Roseann Fitzgerald, CTI Clonmel were on the gold medal winning Munster Girls 4 x 400m team with Jake Vermeer and Jack Hickey, Thurles CBS winning bronze as part of the Munster 4 x 400m Boys team.
